Checkered Flag Barbecue in Salisbury

Went for flounder and shrimp and was not disappointed. Flounder was fresh and well cooked.

It was good. I've always associated checkered flag with their excellent service. It appears that some of the staff has changed as the tea patrol is not quite what it used to be.... The food remains excellent with lots of different choices available. Great choice for anyone! Highly recommended.

Good food, service is great. Clean and good atmosphere. Try the homemade dressing their fantastic.

Checkered Flag Barbecue is another golden coin in the treasure of wonderful BBQ establishments located in Salisbury and surrounding area. The smoked pork is incredibly moist and lean with a wonderfully well balanced hickory/savory pork taste. It melts in your mouth like cotton candy. A lot of love has been put into the preparation of this que. Great sweet tea! Large selection of items on menu. Service was exceptional! 5 well earned stars!

The building has been "repurposed", likely more than once. The menu and prices were typical; we were offered white (mayonnaise based) or red (vinegar) slaw, I suppose because of the VA facility (that's why I was there) and the wide range of customer tastes. Service was quick, only one young lady did it all; waitress, cashier and cleaning. It was mid afternoon, so not many dining at that time.I was pleased with the quantity of BBQ on my tray, w/ red slaw, of course (I'm a Southern Gentleman, from SC). My wife didn't like the texture of the BBQ; it's unusually fine, no lumps or clumps. I'll go back. See you there.

Great wait staff very good food

Really good place to eat going again with the whole family in a couple of weeks. The burger was Carolina style and was really good. Slaw had a great flavor, and the service was great

Great place to have lunch. My Steak Philly sandwich and Hush Puppies was delicious. The waitress was most helpful.
